The Two of Cups carries the energy of sacred first-two-cup-mothers softly facing each other — not the achiever who must produce visible union with fanfare, but the small tender sovereign feminine who already softly holds the sacred small tender cup as another cup softly meets hers between them. She is the sacred first-meeting after the sacred first-opening, and today — Sacred First-Flowering with Sacred Doubled Venus, on Venus’s own venerated Friday — she arrives at the sacred first-flowering moment of the newly-begun cycle.
She is not, softly, asking you to complete the whole union. She is not asking you to prove that the softened cup has produced visible relationship, to defend it against solitude, to make the flowering performable before allowing it. She is offering the small tender meeting itself: notice the sacred small tender caduceus softly between the two cups, feel the sacred small tender winged lion softly above the meeting, let the flowering be, softly, a flowering.
This is not merging.
It is flowering.
There is a difference.
Robin Wall Kimmerer names it: All flourishing is mutual.
The sacred first-flowering does not need to force the union to be true.
She comes, softly, from the very willingness to let the softened cup meet another cup as Venus blesses her own venerated day.
She has, faithfully, always been witnessed by the winged lion.
